Our Approach to Healing

Network is like nothing else. It has been my experience that there are several unique benefits to this approach, and they are listed below.

Consciousness, Body Tension, and Trauma

Computers store information in 1s and 0s on a hard drive.  Bodies store information (like past traumatic experiences, be they physical emotional chemical mental, or spiritual) as tension in the tissues of the body.  When life hits this tension, suffering or symptoms are experienced as the body accesses and replays the information stored in the tissue.  Until the body regulates through the tension, suffering and symptoms will be a “normal” part of life.

Levels of Care

We have discovered that the human nervous system has three main modes of assessing reality: the first is to survive, the second is to inner-relate and discover self, and the third is to serve, or be in community.  No level is superior to another. We are all developing in different levels at the same time with different issues. Its like gears of a car, each gear is appropriate at a different point in the road, or at different times in life.  The goal is to assess and care for the person where they are in that moment.  Network Spinal Analysis is a system of assessment that uses body indicators to determine what level, or mode of reality a person is developing in. Network teach self regulatory developmental skills (called entrainments) that help the person sustainably develop through the level they are growing in, while weaving inroads to the other levels they are developing in simultaneously.  This allows for more options in responses to life, and thus leads to higher quality of life.

Self-Regulation

This is the ability to integrate a novel experience or to be changed by a life experience in a way that produces more adaptability and integration of self.  Self-Regulation is the core process I am looking for when caring for a person.  My unwavering attention to your regulation, is part of what makes me unique among Dr’s.  Different that having someone “fix” you, it is a passive learning process, taught through directing awareness. In this model, Health is the ability to Self-Regulate, or have a novel or new experience and change and grow from it.

SRI

Stands for Somato (body) Respiratory (breath) Integration.  SRI is a self applied, or facilitated healing strategy that, in our office, accompanies Network Care.  It is used to help people turn traumatic experiences into helaing ones, and further process un-integrated aspects of self and life experiences.  This integration is done by helping a person identify and amplify where the body’s rhythm is already of ease, safety, and harmony.  This is accomplished through focused awareness and or direction of energy(affect), movement or breath.  We then share this at ease rhythm with a body region that is less at ease, or traumatized.  When this is done, a more whole (you) can integrate the disconnected or suffering part, and healing is experienced.

Gateways

Gateways to me are the hallmark phenomenon associated with Network Care.  I experience them as a bridge between the physical and energetic structures (aura- etheric field) that allows for a self-regulatory shift in the persons state of consciousness.  The gentle spinal contacts that create Entrainments help the brain begin to recognize and develop a unique relationship with certain spinal areas.  These areas appear to later evolve in to what we call Gateways.  For me, Gateways feel like they take in old life experience in a new way and allow for an easy and powerful transformation of self-perception, on physical mental emotional and spiritual levels.   This appears to be done through physical movement and directed awareness in these areas where the Gateway connects the spinal area to the energy field.  Getaways also appear to be associated with the reduction and clearing out of spinal or neurological interference patterns and Subluxations.

Respiratory Wave

Respiratory Wave is another unique aspect of Network.  Research has shown it is associated with increased complexity of integration within the nervous system.  It is also associated with moving into parasympathetic (define earlier) or ease.  I believe future studies will show this wave to be associated with human evolution.  It is experienced as a movement of breath, allowing more segments of the spine to gracefully and unconsciously move as breath comes in and out.

Somato-Psychic Wave

The SP, or the body-mind wave is another phenomenon that develops with Network Care.  It is a top to bottom or sideways wave of movement.  It is experienced as quite pleasurable, and studies have shown it is associated with a doubling in quality of life experience!  It appears to be involved with breaking up  and releasing of old patterns in the body/ mind.

Different Strategies

Network Entrainments teach the body new strategies to experience, process and integrate bodily tension and all its components; emotionally, chemically mentally and spiritually.  Below is listed several of the strategies we are watching for the body to develop.

                     a.   Releasing tension - muscle relaxation.

b.   Respiration – Respiratory Wave- increased  range and depth of breath- associated with an integration of a sense of self.

c.   Releasing connective tissue tension-stretching, movement

d.   Redirecting tension-Somato-Psychic Wave- a movement- allowing for reshaping of body and thus life experiences and sense of self.

e.   Experiencing and integrating-unprocessed life experiences- recognized as trauma pain and suffering.

                      f.  Connection and integration with the (human energy) field or aura

Copling

This is when the nervous system couples two or more experiences together.  It can happen in trauma as well as healing.  For instance, if someone rear-ends a car, they often couple the red lights with the trauma of the accident.  So from then on, whenever they see the flash of brake lights, the body goes into a trauma response.  With network we are interested in the coupling of healing strategies, and the un-coupling of traumatic ones.  For example  the ability to perceive a part of the spine that is at ease and amplify it through stretch or breath, and direct the stretch or breath to another part of the spine.  These strategies listed above are representative of what we are looking to see the body couple.

As your body learns a new more effective way to do things (through coupling strategies) the new more effective way, will become the dominant choice on, or the path of least resistance. This allows for people to unconsciously make better choices and change life habits with out having to figure it out, or “white knuckle” a change.

The Phasing System

This is the structure through which strategies are coupled and taught to the body.  There are five phases or states of consciousness.  Each phase is a different distortion of reality.  Each distortion is a survival mechanism of the neurological self to accommodate for different experiences of life that could not be processed or experienced at the time they happened.  Each of the phases has a physical anchor in a different part of the spine.  By changing the spinal tension patters associated with the phase, the consciousness connected to the phase can then begin to self regulate, allowing for the person to heal, and get back in the flow of life.

The Gift

Network offers the tools and strategies to use the energy where you’re suffering or stuck to move into a deeper blossoming of your self.  Once you have an internal experience of Network, Continued Care will help you find new ways to change and grow as you face the next challenges life offers you.
